It was a good couple of years into my marriage before I actually learned how to fold fitted sheets properly. (Thank God that my Hubby didn’t marry me for my domestic skills!)
I was watching The Martha Stewart show one day, when she showed her audience how to fold fitted sheets. Oh my goodness – It was like a shaft of light shined down on me from heaven!!! No more puffy wads of fitted sheets in my linen closet – WooHoo!
Sadly, the 10 year old video is no longer available, but the step-by-step directions are available from Martha herself, HERE if you’d like to check them out.
OR…
Check out this GREAT video that I found that demonstrates the exact same method that Martha taught me long ago. (This guy is no Martha, but he still knows what he’s doing.)
I hope that a little shaft of light shines down on you today if you’re learning this little laundry hater tip for the first time.![]()

WAIT….WHAT??!! There is a way to fold a fited sheet with out looking like a child did it! That is crazier than bananas in pajamas!! Thanks for sharing – I hate laundry, but at least now it may not look like it…
Now the only trick is to not just wad it up while standing at the dryer – but to actually take the time to do this wonderful exercise! Thanks Sue so much for sharing this! Now I feel inspired!
I am guilty of not foldng my sheets as well!
I pretty much crumble them into a ball and shove them into the cedar chest where they are stored! I am going to STUDY this video today!
Stopping by from ifellowship! Have a blessed day!
I heard of this awhile ago and it works! Great pink/white quilt beneath the sheet
Sue,This is the most dreaded thing to fold in the world of laundrydom. LOL. I usually just put mine back on the bed.
Wow!! This is the most amazing thing ever!! Why didn't my mom ever teach me this??? Thank you so much for the post!!!
Okay, I'll admit that is great! But no sheet is worth 2 minutes and 25 seconds worth of my time. Do you think the people who invented fitted sheets took ONE SECOND to consider what a pain they were going to be to fold?? LOL
Hello! I'm participating in iFellowship. Enjoy this day the Lord has made and may you be glad in it!Deborahhomemakerhoney.com
Hello, my fellow-laundry-hating-friend!I saw Martha do this on a talk show forever ago (coulda' been 10 yrs, I suppose – yeesh!). I TRY to do it her way, and it comes out a lot better than before I learned from her, but it still looks like a kid did it. I might as well just fold it in half and start rolling from one end to the other. Would probably come out better – for me, anyway! Hooray for the Domestically-Challenged!
This is great! Next time I have to fold my fitted sheets, I will definitely try this out. Happy iFellowship Wednesday!http://FitBodyFullLife.com
What a great video! You’re doing a wonderful job of improving everyone’s dreaded laundry days, Sue!
I learned how to fold fitted sheets a while back and am so happy I did. It makes the linen closet so much neater!
I'm 29 and I can remember Martha Stewart on Oprah showing her how to fold fitted sheets. It changed my life. I rarely get it as perfect as her but at least they are somewhat flat.
Ah, so now my sheets will be soft from the vinegar I bought last week and folded well! Thanks, Sue! Happy iFellowship Day! ♥ Michelle
HI, following you back, cute blog.http://thespringmount6pack.com
I didn't know you could fold a sheet without using your teeth!(thanks for the ifellowship visit – I'm just catching up now)
I hate laundry…I can't even stand to watch the video for fear of learning…but I applaud you for trying. I would rather keep laundry as my nemesis for now
Following from Follow me Friday
interesting… I just fold up the fitted sheet messily and then shove it into a matching pillow case, smooth the pillow case down and my linen closet appears to be organized. Just don't look too close
AHHHHH! A little lightbulb goes off! Thanks for sharing this one. Brilliant!
THIS IS GREAT!!!!! I learned awhile back myself, but my DH and family never did. This is great to share with them. Thank much!
