In my life this week…
This week has been filled with appointments and running lots errands in the heat of the AZ summer, followed by long lazy crashes on the couch.
Hello, summer break!
I’m praising the Lord for my air conditioner this week.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
Our big trip to Chicago is finally here and I cannot wait to tell you all about it!
My favorite thing this week was…
Downtime with no schoolwork to worry about.
(Can you tell I’m enjoying my summer break already?)
Things I’m working on…
Do you know all of those messy, unorganized, hidden places in your home that your company never sees? Yeah, well…I’m trying to make those places magically disappear in my home this month.
(And by “magically” I mean painstakingly doing it myself. – LOL)
I’m reading…
Thank you so much for all of your book suggestions last week. I ended up just grabbing a book off of my husband’s night stand and am about to start “Decision Points” by George W. Bush. Has anyone read it yet? I hear it’s pretty interesting.
I’m also wanting to get Ashley Judd’s new book about her childhood.
That one looks like a doozy!
I’m praying for…
I always try to take this slower time of year to really re-prioritize all that is on my plate. The last few months of school, I’ve felt overwhelmed with all that I had going on. Needless to say, I’m praying for wisdom and direction.
Questions/thoughts I have…
Okay ladies, I’ve tried to think of several new writing prompts to add the The Homeschool Mother’s Journal and I’m up to over a dozen of them now. Look them over HERE and let me know if there are any others that you’d like for me to add.
A photo, video, link, or quote to share…
Here is a photo of me after running around in a hot car all afternoon:

Happy Summer,

Now it’s your turn to share…
Please read my guidelines HERE before you link up.

We are also homeschooling here in Oz! So we are glad you're still going as well
Love the reading and cooking questions!
Air Conditioners are a WONDERFUL thing! lol We school year round. I posted here for the first time back in April and I'm glad to be back posting here. So glad you are continuing it during the summer. Stay cool!
Hope/praying you have a GREAT CHI trip! Can't wait to hear all about it! Yes,the heat…it's a killer and LOVE your pic…LOL…I think that's me, here in HOTLANTA!
I love the new questions and would love to see the what you're cooking….not because I have anything to show off…I need some good summer recipes for hot nights!!!
BIG hugs…have fun!!!
We have started homeschooling this week. I was trying to let my little guy have a break and deprogram from his public pre-k program he was in but he is so excited to homeschool we have already started.
Thanks for sharing and having this each week. I am new homeschool mama that needs all the help she can get!
That is so cute that your son is excited to start! I have found that "getting started" each day is half the battle… Many blessings… and have fun!!
We keep schooling during the summer because it is so hot, but this year we're so busy that there's very little schooling to be done.
I can't imagine living without a/c. Truly a necessity.
[...] you’d like to peak into other homeschool mom’s journals feel free to do so here! Have a great [...]
Hmmm… I think it is good the way it is! Have fun in Chi-town
I look forward to reading about your trip!
How fun Sue!! I think I answered some of your questions in my post – so linking up with you!
Yes, thank you God for creating the person that invented AC! We are schooling through the summer which is nice when you can't stand being outside. Thank you for hosting the HMJ. I participated for the first time this week and have been so inspired by all the posts. I hope you enjoy your trip and am praying for safe travel. I will also pray for God's to cover you with wisdom and direction.

Thank you so much for your prayers! I'm so glad that you decided to join us for the Journal this week.
This is my first week linking up. I love the prompts. I like that you do a link up every week. I had been doing the Simple Woman's Daybook but she switched to only doing one link up a month and I don't like that as much. I also like that yours is geared for homeschoolers. Thanks for the inspiration.
Debbie –
I'm so glad that you're joining us this week!
Sue
Hi Sue! Thanks for keeping this going – it motivates me to update my own blog weekly and it is nice to have the weekend to work on it. I LOVE the doggie with his ears blowing in the wind! We had to get our AC repaired today and I am thankful that it is running again tonight! I can totally relate to trying to make the clutter and messy areas of the house disappear this summer, but somehow I haven't really started on them yet. Maybe I should take before and after pictures so that I can "see" the difference. Have a fun trip and a great week!
