In my life this week…
I’m gearing up for my BIG ol’ trip to Nashville in 2 weeks and I’m getting really excited about meeting several of my sweet bloggy friends IRL!
This will be my first official blogging conference and I’m sure that I’m supposed to be feeling nervous about the great unknown, but I just don’t for some reason. Something must be seriously wrong with me, don’t you think?
Of course, this could all just be the calm before the storm and I may have to run and hide in the bathroom like I did at the Phoenix International Airport last time I flew by myself. Sadly, I found myself at the wrong gate, in the wrong line of passengers, to board the wrong flight in the midst of a HUGE crowd of people all staring at me like I was deranged.
In my defense, I was lacking a seriously good night’s sleep and hopped up on RedBull at the time and had never realized until that particular moment how much I depended on my husband to get me from point A to point B when we travel. *sigh*
Anyway…
For those of you heading to Blissdom this year, did you hear about the fun homeschool meetup on Friday morning?
Several of the homeschool bloggers attending are planning to sit together for breakfast that morning to connect with each other.
We’re all using the hashtag #hsbliss on twitter to find each other while we’re there.
I’d really love to hug your neck if you’re going, so I hope that you’ll plan to join us!
In our homeschool this week…
We’ve been pondering what we’re going to do in our homeschool next year, and I think that we have finally decided that we’re not going to continue with the Classical Conversations program (Challenge B) for 8th grade.
We love the community feel and the consistency that a tutorial program offers and will probably look into others in our area, but we don’t think that the added intensity of a higher level grade of CC is going to work for us.
Once we decide where we’re going to land, I’ll let ya know!
Questions/thoughts I have…
What about you?
Are you going to continue on with the same program that you’re using now, or will you be switching to something totally different next year?
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
My four-legged daughter, Princess Leia, had to go to the vet this week because she picked up some sort of nasty infection at the groomers last week.
Yuck!
$140 later, she’s feeling better, but now my wallet is starting to feel the pain.![]()

Woof!
A photo, video, link, or quote to share…
I received a fun little surprise in the mail this week from the sweet “Bliss Chicks” and a few of the sponsors of the Blissdom conference.
My blue and brown, tissue-filled box included: A snazzy business card holder, a Blissdom luggage tag, a music CD, a book of Post-it tabs, several coupons for free items at the grocery store, a name tag, and other miscellaneous info about the conference.
Needless to say, I felt very loved!![]()

Glad your pup is feeling better. I hate the sting of the vet's bill.
Enjoy your conference!! How exciting!
I've also been thinking about what we will change next year, since our homeschool convention is coming up. We won't be making any big changes just a little here and there. It is a good thing to mull over once in a while.
Hello lovely – yes, today I made it over ….
could life slow down a little, my wrinkles are getting wrinkles from all this!!!
See YOU in about twelve sleeps
Can. Not. Wait. To. Hug. Your. Neck! – Thanks for popping over to my nest for a visit.
oh can you see it ? I am green with envy. I would love to attend a bloggers conference ! Have a blessed time. Will pray you don't get lost ! I can so relate to that anxiety …… don't like flying by myself.
Thanks for hosting us all
Pleased to hear your four legged daughter is better.
Blessings
Thanks so much, Chareen!
Definitely starting to think about next year! I actually am loving the planning stage and praying that all will be as fun as I think it sounds. Have a great time at the conference!
Have a great time at the conference. That sounds like such fun.
Have fun for me too at the conference~ Maybe next time I can join one!
So glad your pup is feeling better! I too am thinking about next year and on the curriculum hunt. Have a great weekend!!
Thanks, Jen! Hope you have a great weekend too.
Have fun at Blissdom! Can't wait to hear all about it!
No, we're not planning any major curriculum changes, but tweaks are ongoing! We never have and all-in-one package, although with Omnibus we're getting closer to that. It's a hit at our house.

This is my first time here. Thanks for hosting. Can't wait to check out your blog.
I've heard good things about CC but always paired with 'it is challenging'- personally, I don't think we could do it here…we aren't 'structured' enough- nor do we want to be, I guess. We are pretty happy with what we use. There are a few things I might switch up for next year but nothing extreme.
Hope you have a great time at Blissdom
