Hi, I’m Sue! Welcome to my Nest

After stepping away from years at a partial-homeschool private school, we became a full-time homeschooling family in January 2010. Yep, that’s right, we made the BIG transition into the full blown homeschool world half-way through the school year and haven’t looked back since. I started blogging about our homeschool adventures in March of that same year and The Homeschool Chick website was born.
.
I am a rare native of sunny Arizona. I’ve been married to Hubby, the love of my life, for a little over 17 years now and we have one son, who I call Monkey. He’s 12 years old and is currently in the 6th grade. Hubby & I are so blessed to be his parents & we are constantly astounded by what he observes from our little nest.

.

Here’s a little of what you’ll find on my site:

.

A lighthearted look at our HOMESCHOOL life.

HUMOR – I love to laugh!

SCRIPTURE & other mentions about CHRISTIAN living

RECIPES -I have a son that just loves to cook with me!

PHOTOS – I’m a wannabe photog extraordinaire

BOOK SUGGESTIONS – We just LOVE to read in our house!

& REVIEWS of any cool homeschool stuff I may happen to find.

BIRD REFERENCES - Why?

Because I’m a Chick, that’s why!…Chirp! Chirp!

You’ll also find random chirpings about my (so far unsuccessful)

quest to master ALL THINGS DOMESTIC

& occasional RANTS about how much I detest doing the laundry.:(

.

The Other Nest I call Home:

I co-created a fun online homeschool community called Hip Homeschool Moms that I just LOVE! I have made some amazing connections with the wonderful homeschool moms that link up to the Hip Homeschool Hop and participate in our fun forum on a weekly basis.

.

When all is said and done, I hope to use this homeschool blog to record our adventures together before my little baby bird one day flies the coop. And yes…through it all, this mama bird will do her best to stay perched in God’s branches! (Mark 4:30-32)
